Fall staples // casual chic outfit

Good morning + happy monday!

It’s pouring in Seattle, but I wanted to share this simple fall outfit that I wore over the weekend because I’m wearing all staple pieces that are so comfortable + cute!

The grey wool jacket is from Zara. I love that the material is sweater-like because it’s so cozy, yet looks chic. It’s my go-to on dry autumn days. I purchased this in store a few weeks ago in downtown Seattle, but could not find it on their website.

Similar styles:

left to right:

  1. Wool blend coat by Halogen at Nordstrom $199
  2. Textured-Bouclé Everyday Coat for Women at Old Navy, comes in fir green, wine red, & black marl $69.99 (currently take 40%, only $42)
  3. Long Wool-Blend Coat at Abercrombie & Fitch, comes in dark grey, light grey (only M-XL in stock), & black and grey plaid, on sale for $132 (regularly $220)

These Levi’s are one of my favorite pairs! I saw them on so many style bloggers and had to have them. I ordered them from Amazon , currently retailing for $88. They fit true to size and I’m wearing a 25. Love the high-waisted fit + knee rips.

I just recently got these loafers in the mail from Target. Again, so many style bloggers have been raving about them so I wanted to try them for myself. The inside is faux fur + so warm! I love that they dress up any outfit but are still kinda cozy like slippers.

The fit is true to size & they also come in blush pink.

And then my top is just a basic black tee and I knotted it since the jeans are high-waisted and because why not? 🙂

Saving Paige Boutique // Shop for a purpose

Happy Friday!

With fall weather settling in I’ve been updating my wardrobe and discovered a new online store with a greater purpose than just selling clothes.

Saving Paige Boutique donates 5% of all sales to someone in need. On their site you can read the story of the current recipient.

Right now, the boutique is supporting Rebecca, a 23 year old from Florida who is battling with high risk cytogenic Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Proceeds help to cover medical expenses, including chemotherapy.

It’s so refreshing to find a business that gives back and allows shoppers to see exactly what the cause is.

In terms of the shop itself, Saving Paige Boutique sells stylish, affordable women’s clothing + accessories + baby clothing.

I especially love their tops + dresses!

Here’s a look at some of my favorite pieces! (All are available on Saving Paige’s website, some in limited sizes + quantities left)

If you want to shop from them and save, you can use the code “kara10” to receive 10% off your order!

My top 3:

Top to bottom: Cleopatra dress, Cottage dress, Molly dress

Women’s Tops

Top to bottom: Reindeer sweater, Ezra top, Layla top

Marley Moto Jeans

Top to bottom:  Emilia dress, Sunset dress, Sadie Dress

Top to bottom: Mommy + Baby Beanie, June Tee + Jumpsuit, Jane Jumpsuit, Baby Kenzie Ruffle Tee + Pant, Milly Moccasin

You can find all of these items by clicking HERE and then searching the name!

Once again, Saving Paige Boutique was kind enough to give us a coupon code to save 10%! Enter “kara10” at checkout to save 🙂

Thank you for reading! Happy shopping!

Trending: The Gingham Dress

Fall in the Pacific Northwest is for rainboots, rain jackets, &… gingham?!

This season I’ve been loving the gingham pattern (black + white squares). Who else is with me?!

I’ve been loving this dress not only because of the pattern + neutral colors, but because of the layers which add a twist of feminity to the piece. The sleeves have a bell finish too.

It’s perfect for throwing on during a sunny(ish) fall day or when I want to look put-together without much effort.

Pairs perfectly with Hunter boots, booties, sneakers, flats, or sandals (if you’re like me & refuse to let go of summer).

So far, it’s my favorite fall dress this year. Target does it again.

What are your favorite gingham pieces?? Let me know in the comments so I can check them out 😉

Dress details: K by Kersh- Target (I’m pictured in size xs, and there’s plenty of room so I recommend sizing down!) plus, it ships free!

Love always,

Good morning & happy three day weekend!

As you probably know, Memorial Day sales are happening now and are a great time to stock up for summer (which is right around the corner AHH!)

So, I am sharing my top 3 sales to shop this weekend.

The following sales made the cut because they are places that I love love love to shop at PLUS they are offering significant discounts.

  • Now through June 4th Nordstrom is having their half-yearly sale which means up to 40% off of select clothing, shoes, accessories, & home
  • Free shipping on anything, always

  • This is one of my favorite places to pick up dresses for spring & summer and they don’t offer promo codes very often so now’s your chance to snag something cute!
  • Deal:
    • $15 off $75 with code “bananas15”
    • $35 off $150 with code “bananas35”
    • $50 off $200 with code “bananas50”

  • The 20% off Too Faced sale is my FAVORITE sale of them all because cosmetics don’t go on sale often so now is seriously one of the best times to reorder your empties or try something new!
  • FREE SHIPPING on everything through May 30th (also a great deal because usually there is a  minimum purchase amount)

What sales are you shopping this weekend?

Love always,

These are the original tall gloss rain boots in the color pink sand. This light baby pink color is PERFECT for spring and will set your Hunter boots apart from the rest.

For me, it was love at first sight. Apparently other people had this same experience because these boots kept selling out before I could purchase them… *cries inside

But, as you can tell, I eventually got my hands on them.

At $150, Hunter boots are worth a pretty penny so it’s always great when they go on sale.

Right now these are 30% off & fully stocked in sizes 5-11 directly from Hunter.

You can purchase them here.

The pink sand short boots are also on sale, available here.

And, if you are obsessed with this color as much as I am Hunter’s cable stitch boot socks come in pink sand and are, you guessed it, on sale!

A few tips I have for buying from Hunter:

So go get ’em before they’re gone and add a dash of pink to your spring wardrobe!

Let me know what your favorite color of Hunter boots are in the comments!

Love always,

Thoughts on Turning Twenty

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

I recently celebrated my twentieth birthday..?!

So much is changing in my life right now as I enter my twenties.

It’s unbelievable how fast everything is moving.

Like, literally, I am moving for the first time and it is all happening so fast- packing tons (hundreds?) of boxes, donating bags after bags, unfamiliar people coming over to paint / clean / fix / update, meeting real estate agents- all the while, having a deep sense of dread and heartbreak within my heart.

Leaving my childhood home will / already is heartbreaking.

The only way I can get through this is to know that while this is the end of a book, it is also the start of a new one.

I’ll keep telling myself until I buy it.

Anyway, on a more positive note, I am having more luck in my academic life.

I was accepted into the Political Science Major and declared!

Next up, applying for the Journalism program this fall. (I’m aiming to be a double major)

One issue that I keep running into at university is my interest in subjects that are across the board. I’m curious about Filipino history, ancient architecture, Latin, Spanish, creative writing, literature, classical studies, religion.

So, I find myself wanting to pursue so many different minors that I simply do not have time for 😦

I’ll try my best to immerse myself in as vast amount of knowledge as possible while I’m a student here though *smirk/devious face (who else who make this sort of face in this context?)

As for my hobbies, the past six months I have been increasingly interested in beauty. As a reference, I only wore mascara pretty much through high school. But, I have been loving playing around with eye shadow palettes and lipstick! I’ve always been someone who needs creative outlets, and cosmetics is my latest one!

To share my favorite/ holy grail beauty products & looks I’ve been considering posting YouTube videos? What do you think?

As someone who leans on the shy side talking in front of a camera and putting myself out there is slightly daunting, I’ll admit.

On the other hand, as someone who loves photography, filming and editing videos is something I have just dipped my toes into and would love to explore more.

Plus, I’d take any excuse to play around with beauty products!

As for KB^2, Kyle and I celebrated our TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY in April!!!

It feel in the middle of the week, so we had class to attend, but still found time to visit the tippy top of Columbia Tower and eat dinner at Oliver Garden *insert heart-eyed emojii

Crazy milestones this year.

Saying goodbye to my teen years feels more natural that I expected. At this point, life is moving and in order to keep up with it I have to be okay (as in cringe but close my eyes and get through it anyway) with change.

I hope you all are enjoying spring sunshine & discovering God’s blessings in your life, even through hardships.

Let me know how you’re doing below in the comments!

It’s been almost 2 years since I graduated high school and I’d love to hear updates from old friends from Rogers 🙂

Take kare! (at first that was a typo, but, eh why not)

Love always,

Best nail colors for springtime!

Hello everyone & happy spring!

Hands-down, I most excited for this new season to bring more sunshine and warm weather (so I can wear sandals and flowy flowery dresses obvi). Seriously, I’m so ready to pack away my black winter staples (Hunter boots and North Face jackets I’m talking ’bout you). For the next week or so, though, the weather forecast looks like rain, rain, and some more rain. So, while I cannot break out the spring clothes yet, I can break out the spring nail colors.

Warm tones

  • Hazard” (left) is a perfect coral pink that is brighter than the other colors I will be spotlighting in this post, but not too bright.
  • Vacation time” (right) is a neutral, muted pink shade with a hint of light brown.

Cool tones

(left to right)

  • Sinful Colors’ “Easy Going” is an off-white, light beige shade with a dash of pink.
  • Essie’s “Lapiz of Luxury” is a rich lavender color.
  • Maybelline New York’s “Lust for Lilac” is a sweet pink, in true lilac fashion. One downside: this series of polishes, Color Show, requires at least three layers of application.

(left to right)

  • Sinful Colors “Sail la Vie” (purchase in any drug store for a few dollars) is my FAVORITE shade ever. It’s a sky blue that isn’t too bold for spring.
  • Essie’s  “Find me an Oasis” is a unique icy blue color.

What are your favorite spring nail polishes or staples in your closet? As always, I’d love to here from you in the comments below 🙂

Love always,

I dunno about you guys but I always have water on me and make sure to hydrate throughout the day. Whether I am in class, chilling in my room, or on the go I need a water bottle that seals closed without leaking, is chic / stylish, is easy to wash, and keeps my water cold.

S’well stainless steel bottles are my new go-to.

The one I use daily is the 17 0z. white marble bottle below.

Naturally, I am obsessed with white marble (who isn’t right now?!) so I had to have this bottle. To my surprise, this bottle isn’t just cute but it actually works. It has never leaked and it keeps my water cold for 24 hours… Like seriously, I drink all of my water before it ever gets to room temp. Magic or something. This bottle doesn’t disappoint with warm drinks either- they stay warm for 12 hours.

I ordered this bottle online directly from the company. This style is also available from Urban Outfitters and Nordstrom (who is sold out of them at the moment).S’well’s packaging is also unique. Bottles come in cylindrical containers rather than the standard (boring) brown cardboard boxes.

I have found my perfect water bottle, have you found yours?

Love always,
