Get to know my blog

Hello + welcome to A Happy Shade of Blue!

In short, this blog is named after my core belief that while we all go through blue/ rough times, those times serve a purpose by teaching us. Essentially, seemingly bad things can be viewed as blessings in disguise. So, the phrase “a happy shade of blue” comes from my personal attempts to remain “happy,” or calm, thankful, etc. during hard times.

No matter what we go through, what truly counts is how we react. This outlook pushes me to not lose sight of the positives despite the negatives in life. I practice this imperfectly, but it is one of the things I strive for the most!

Also, blue is my favorite color!

And that is where the title of this blog comes from 🙂

This is my outlet for all things style, beauty, lifestyle, PNW adventuring, & misc. thoughts!

Get to know me

I’ve spent my 20 years in learning + living in Washington State.  I am currently a junior studying Political Science & Communications at the University of Washington.

A few of my favorite things include my best friend/boyfriend Kyle, big dogs, beaches, sweets, fashion, and sleeping… but you will usually find me adventuring (when I should be studying), online shopping, or writing.

To read my articles published in The Daily, the student-ran newspaper at the UW, please click here.  These pieces focus on wellness, but also dip into the opinion and news sections.

Thank you for checking out my blog!

Feel free to let me know what you’d like to see me write about or if you are interested in collaborations! 🙂
