Skincare Sunday: Neutrogena Collection

This week I am sharing my favorite products from Neutrogena!

I have been using all of these for the last few years and keep repurchasing because of how accessible & affordable they are + they get the job done.

All of these products are available at the drugstore.

Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes

These makeup wipes work for removing everything from mascara to liquid lipstick. They do not irritate my sensitive skin or cause breakouts.

I have not found any downsides with these!

Tip: Keep a travel-sized pack of these in your bag in case you need them during the day

Oil-Free Acne Face Wash (pink grapefruit)

This has been my go-to cleanser for probably five years now.

The beads are great for scrubbing to remove all dirt, but are not too abrasive for my sensitive skin. The wash foams easily and a little bit goes a long way.

I like to keep one of these in the shower, in case I forget to wash my face before.

Once again, I have no cons regarding this face wash. Love it!

Oil-Free Moisture with Sunscreen (SPF 35)

This is my everyday moisturizer. It is lightweight, creamy/ easy to apply, and non-oily.

My favorite part is that it contains SPF 35. Although many days in Seattle are cloudy, I always like to wear sunscreen under my makeup to protect my skin from the sun’s rays. This product makes it impossible to forget to apply sunscreen, since it is built right into my daily moisturizer.

I also love how thin the bottle is because because it fits into my beauty bag perfectly for traveling. No complaints.

Light Night Cream

While I do use this often, I’d have to say that it is my least favorite product out of those mentioned above.

It is described as light, but it is actually a pretty thick, heavy moisturizer.

So, although it is not the most comfortable to wear (it is oily), it does thoroughly moisturize my skin while I’m asleep.

This product is good to use once in awhile, but I definitely don’t use it every night or as often as I used to.

Thank you for reading!

Let me know what your favorite Neutrogena products are or your experiences with these ones!

Love always,

Skincare Sunday: Clinique Acne Solutions

Happy sunny sunday everyone!

Today I am starting a new reoccuring segment of my blog, “Skincare Sunday,” in which I will share skincare products that I have recently tried & tested out and let you know my honest thoughts on them.

Just for reference, my skin is sensitive and combination type.

So, the product for this week is the Clinique Acne Solutions 3 step kit.

I purchased mine online from Macy’s. It is also sold by Sephora and Ulta.

What it comes with:

  1. cleansing foam: a foaming face wash
  2. clarifying lotion: to use right after washing, very similar to a toner
  3. all-over clearing treatment: to use after the lotion, a non-scented, lightweight, treatment cream

How to use:

Just like any other 3-step acne kits, use the products in the order recommended.

Step 2 requires shaking because, as you will see, much of the product will settle on the bottom of the bottle. Apply step 2 with a cotton ball.

This regiment is supposed to be used multiple times a day if possible (however, it was too drying for me to do this).

The good and the bad:

GOOD:

  • didn’t irritate my sensitive skin
  • no strong smell
  • foaming cleanser is refreshing and leaves the skin feeling smooth

BAD:

  • too drying to use twice a day
  • did not make my acne worse, but did not make it better either

Purchase again or nah?

Personally, since this product did not improve my complexion I will not be repurchasing. However, it was not a harsh product and overall did really well with my sensitive skin.

This product may work better for those who do not get dry skin easily because then it could be used morning and night, rather than just once a day.

All in all, I prefer this system to the Proactiv one, but will keep searching for something better!

Any suggestions for acne treatment systems? I’d love to hear them!

Love always,

K♥

Must-Have Too Faced Products

img_0373

Hello! As my make-up collection has grown I have noticed that a common brand that I purchase (and love) is Too Faced. All of their products have the cutest packaging and are top-notch quality, so I thought I’d share my favorites with you!

Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush (in Sweet Berry)

OK, I can’t talk about these next two products without highlighting the fact that they are heart shaped! Love it!

This is my everyday blush. With three blushes in one this works for days that I want lighter or darker blushes. Usually, I blend all three of the colors together with my brush.

This blush holds up all day and has a beautiful shimmery finish.

This is available in 4 different shades and the one I use (sweet berry) is on the darker side.

Sweethearts Baked Luminous Glow Bronzer (in Sweet Tea)

This two-in-one bronzer has one cool tone color and one warm tone one. For fall and winter months I use the cooler one for a more natural look and because my skin is paler in these darker/ colder months. For the late spring and summer months I lean towards the warmer color (on the right) for a more golden look and to better match my (hopefully) sun-kissed skin.

With two bronzers in one this product has everything I need year-round.

La Creme Drenched Lipstickimg_0405-1

This lipstick is creamy & smooth, easy to apply, and long-lasting.

My favorite shades are:

#1 sweet maple: a brown-toned medium red shade / “plum brown”
#2 stiletto red: your tried & true classic red
#3 WHAM! : a dark raspberry with sparkles

The gold color makes these lipsticks easy to find in your bag- and with everything that’s in my bag, that’s always a plus.

Born This Way Foundation

If you are looking for a natural-looking, lightweight foundation for summer, look no further!

This foundation has medium coverage, lasts all day, and feels like you’re not wearing foundation at all. Product is dispersed from a pump, which is ideal for placing directly onto a brush or beauty blender.

My shade is warm beige, and it matches my skin tone perfectly.

All of these products are available at Sephora, directly from the Too Faced website, and retailers like Macy’s.

What Too Faced products do you love? I always enjoy receiving recommendations for new beauty products!

Thank you for reading and I hope you found this post helpful and informative.

Love always,

Best nail colors for springtime!

Hello everyone & happy spring!

Hands-down, I most excited for this new season to bring more sunshine and warm weather (so I can wear sandals and flowy flowery dresses obvi). Seriously, I’m so ready to pack away my black winter staples (Hunter boots and North Face jackets I’m talking ’bout you). For the next week or so, though, the weather forecast looks like rain, rain, and some more rain. So, while I cannot break out the spring clothes yet, I can break out the spring nail colors.

Warm tones

  • Hazard” (left) is a perfect coral pink that is brighter than the other colors I will be spotlighting in this post, but not too bright.
  • Vacation time” (right) is a neutral, muted pink shade with a hint of light brown.

Cool tones

(left to right)

  • Sinful Colors’ “Easy Going” is an off-white, light beige shade with a dash of pink.
  • Essie’s “Lapiz of Luxury” is a rich lavender color.
  • Maybelline New York’s “Lust for Lilac” is a sweet pink, in true lilac fashion. One downside: this series of polishes, Color Show, requires at least three layers of application.

(left to right)

  • Sinful Colors “Sail la Vie” (purchase in any drug store for a few dollars) is my FAVORITE shade ever. It’s a sky blue that isn’t too bold for spring.
  • Essie’s  “Find me an Oasis” is a unique icy blue color.

What are your favorite spring nail polishes or staples in your closet? As always, I’d love to here from you in the comments below 🙂

Love always,

K♥
